It is a series of clear and comfortable aligners. Each successive aligner progressively moves your teeth towards their final position.
You wear each aligner for 7 days before switching to the next one.
The aligners are made of a clear thermoplastic that fits snugly around your teeth.
The length of treatment depends on multiple factors such as the complexity of your case and how well you wear your aligners.
We see our Invisalign patients less frequently (usually every 8-12 weeks). Invisalign appointments are usually shorter since you don’t have any wires to check.
You should be wearing them 23 hours a day! You should only take them out to eat, drink, and when brushing and flossing.
Brush your aligners 1-2 times daily with mouthwash, toothpaste, and a soft toothbrush. Do not use boiling water or whitening toothpaste as these are too harsh and can damage the aligners.
There are typically no painful or poking wires like with braces. However, if you are wearing elastics as part of your treatment and the elastic attachment button breaks, that should be fixed.
